Pedra Bonita · Dois Irmãos · Pedra do Telégrafo · Pedra da Gávea
On foot
Four of the best hikes in Rio, all led by me. Easy difficulty, big rewards.
Easy · 2.5 hours
A classic Rio hike through the Tijuca forest — the largest urban jungle in the world — ending at a rocky summit with jaw-dropping views over the city. Monkeys guaranteed.
Easy · 3 hours · 45 min up
The twin peaks above Ipanema and Leblon. Starting in Vidigal, one of Rio's most vibrant communities, the trail rewards you with one of the most iconic panoramas in all of Brazil — Ipanema, the Lagoa, Christ the Redeemer, and the whole south zone spread below you.
Easy · 4 hours · 30 min up
Home to one of Rio's most famous photo spots — the rocky ledge jutting out over the Atlantic coastline. The views stretch across São Conrado, Barra da Tijuca and beyond. A slightly longer day out, totally worth it.
Moderate · 4 hours · 1.5 hrs up
One of the largest coastal monoliths in the world. The summit sits at 842m and delivers a panorama unlike anything else in Rio — the whole south zone, Barra da Tijuca, and the Atlantic stretching to the horizon.
